Commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade in the Empire

The Hon. Jason Kenney, PC, MP, Secretary of State (Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity), addressed an audience in Toronto to discuss the importance of Canada`s British inheritance, and how this led to the strengthening of liberty and order worldwide. Specifically, Secretary of State Kenney referred to the bicentennial of the abolition of the slave trade in the Empire. Secretary of State Kenney also spoke about the important role of the Canada`s black community. During the event, important Canadian historical flags flew, including the Union Jack and the White Ensign of the Royal Navy. |
